STUDY ABROAD SCHOLARSHIPS
Here are some study abroad scholarship opportunities that we have found for our students.
Boren Scholarships provide up to $20,000 to American undergraduate students in exchange for their commitment to seek work in the federal government and are funded by the National Security Education Program (NSEP). Scholarships are given with preference to programs which focus on languages, fields of study, and geographic areas thought to be critical to U.S. national security. The Global Studies Grant for Student Travel and Study Abroad
Designed to support foreign language training and other academic studies abroad, this grant provides supplemental funds for American students who already are studying abroad under the auspices of an official study abroad program conducted by an accredited academic institution. They are particularly interested in funding the study of strategically significant countries and languages. For more information please visit their website.
Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grants
These grants are designed to help support undergraduates as they seek knowledge and experience in their academic fields by studying abroad. Forty-five $1,000 grants are awarded each year. You are eligible to apply if you meet ALL of the following: you attend an institution with an active Phi Kappa Phi chapter; you have a minimum of 30 semester hours (or equivalent) and no more than 90 semester hours (or equivalent) by the deadline; your study abroad program begins between May 1 and June 30; you have at least two semesters left at your home institution after the completion of your study abroad program; you have applied to or been accepted into an accredited study abroad program before April 1, and provide a letter of acceptance or a letter confirming your application, on official letterhead. Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship Program
This program offers grants for U.S. citizen undergraduate students of limited financial means to pursue academic studies abroad. Such international study is intended to better prepare U.S. students to assume significant roles in an increasingly global economy and interdependent world. Golden Key Canadian/Volunteer Abroad Award
This is for undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate members who are currently enrolled in classes at a degree-granting program at a Canadian university and are enrolled in a study abroad or volunteer program with a recognized organization. Golden Key Study Abroad Scholarship
