INTERNSHIP PLACEMENTS

For our summer and semester internship program in Warsaw, there is a wide variety of internship placements in a number of fields. Internships are carefully organized and monitored by our partner university, Collegium Civitas. Possible internship placements include:

 

Center for Contemporary Art

Center for Contemporary Art is a place for the presentation, creation and documentation of all kinds of modern art.

 

Art Gallery “Zacheta”

Art Gallery “Zacheta” is the major art gallery in Poland. Its mission is the presentation and promotion of contemporary and twentieth century art. Zacheta organizes individual and group exhibitions of Polish and foreign artists, symposia, workshops, concerts and other events accompanying exhibitions.

 

Other Space Foundation

Other Space Foundation aims at opening a new space for social and artistic expression. The Foundation designs and implements innovative cultural, artistic and social projects to make real change in Poland and in different parts of the world. Foundation seeks interns for a project on human rights that, among others, involves fundraising activities with an international outreach and an international project in arts & culture.

 

Bec Zmiana Foundation

Bec Zmiana Foundation is a unique organization for promoting Polish culture by meetings between young artists and their public.

Appendix2 is a leading art gallery in Warsaw Poland

 

Kino LAB

Kino LAB’s basic aim is to present worldwide achievements in the art of cinema, emphasizing productions that are independent and of artistic and intellectual value. Kino LAB offers a unique opportunity to participate in the summer art film festival that includes productions by Coen brothers, Takeshi Kitano, Jim Jarmush, and famous polish directors.

 

Warsaw Rising Museum

The fundamental goal of the Warsaw Rising Museum is to conduct research and teaching activities directly related to the Warsaw 1944 Rising and to the legacy of the Polish Underground State.

 

Polish History Museum

Polish History Museum is a cultural institution whose task is to promote Polish history and strengthen national traditions. It was established by the Ministry for Culture and National Heritage on May 2, 2006.

Foundation of Culture

Foundation of Culture is a non-profit organization to support development of Polish art and culture.

Adam Mickiewicz Institute

The goal of the Adam Mickiewicz Institute’s activity is to promote Poland abroad by popularizing the historical and contemporary achievements of Polish culture, developing and updating an integrated system of information on Polish culture, creating and collecting various kinds of information and promotional materials (multilingual publications, illustrations, recordings, films, literary programs, exhibition projects, etc.), organizing study visits for foreign guests of the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, the Ministry of Culture, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 

Jagiellonian Institute

Jagiellonian Institute aims at improving public life and public engagement in Poland and Europe by promoting civic responsibility, social justice, historical truth, development of strategic thinking, and expanding knowledge in the field of socio-economic studies.

Foundation in Support of Local Democracy

Foundation in Support of Local Democracy (FSLD) is the biggest non-governmental, independent and non-profit organization. FSLD’s mission is to promote the idea of civil self-governance as the fundamental form of democracy.

Polish-American Freedom Foundation

Polish-American Freedom Foundation, established in 2000 by the Polish-American Enterprise Fund, supports the development of civil society, democracy and market economy.

Academy for Development of Philanthropy in Poland

Academy for Development of Philanthropy aims at development of NGOs, volunteer and charitable institutions in Poland.

Rural Development Foundation

Rural Development Foundation is a non-profit organization to support the economic, social and cultural initiatives of residents of villages and small towns, and initiatives associated with the improvement of the technical infrastructure of rural areas.

 

Jagiellonian Institute

Jagiellonian Institute aims at improving public life and public engagement in Poland and Europe by promoting civic responsibility, social justice, historical truth, development of strategic thinking, and expanding knowledge in the field of socio-economic studies.

 

Central Statistical Office of Poland

The work of Central Statistical Office of Poland includes gathering, processing, analyzing and publishing statistical data on Polish society, economy and government. In particular, they publish the Statistical Yearbook.

Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights

Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights, founded by the members of the famous Helsinki Committee, is a most experienced NGO active in the field of human rights in Central and Eastern Europe. It runs educational, research and lobbying projects.

Polish Humanitarian Organization

The mission of the Polish Humanitarian Organization (PHO) is the promotion of humanitarian values. PHO helps communities in crises regain responsibility for their own future and become self-reliant. At present the PHO staff is helping in Iraq, Afghanistan.

 

Amnesty International in Poland

Amnesty International is a worldwide organization which campaigns for internationally recognized human rights for all.

 

Other Space Foundation

Gazeta Wyborcza (GW) is the major and most influential national daily newspaper in Poland. GW has over 5 million readers and sells about 450 thousand copies every day.

Polityka

Polityka is the major and most influential Polish weekly magazine.

Warsaw Business Journal

Warsaw Business Journal is the major international business publication in Poland. Since 1994 it has published about all aspects of business, law, economics and politics in Poland.

 

Warsaw Insider
Warsaw Insider is a comprehensive monthly guide to good living and fast times in Poland’s capital, with entertainment, information, culture, travel, food, etc.

 

New Warsaw Express

New Warsaw Express is a weekly general-interest newspaper, covering topics that range from politics and business to sport, cinema and the arts.

 

Warsaw Voice

Warsaw Voice is the first weekly magazine in English that is published in Poland.

 

Dziennik

Dziennik (Daily) is one of the major daily newspapers in Poland.

Polish Theater & Powszechny Theater

Polish Theater was opened in 1913 as one of the most beautiful and modern theater buildings in Europe. Powszechny Theater was established in 1944. Both theaters perform the world’s most famous classic and contemporary playwrights of Zapolska, Dickens, Shakespeare, Moliere, Gorky, Beckett, Chekhov, etc.

 

TSLIL Jewish Choir

TSLIL Jewish Choir brings people of different age and background that are united in the pleasure they get from singing together, and from bringing the Jewish musical heritage to life. TSLIL performances break barriers between cultures. Its repertoire includes songs and refrains in Hebrew, Yiddish and Ladino (the latter two the languages of Ashkenazi and Sephardi Jewry respectively). TSLIL focuses on hearing education, voice training and teaching singing.

 

Batory Foundation

Stefan Batory Foundation supports the development of an open, democratic civil society in Poland and other Central and East European countries. The Foundation has one internship place available in its international section and looks for a candidate who is interested in a broader subject of Home and Justice Affairs (immigration and visa policies, border crossings, transborder cooperation, etc.) A future intern may also be involved in other projects related, for example, to Belarus.

 

Forum of Young Diplomats

Forum of Young Diplomats is led by graduate students of Diplomacy and International Relations. The Forum offers an academic and professional training for young diplomats and prospective candidates to the Polish foreign service. The Forum’s key program is the Academy of Young Diplomats that brings together around 150 recent graduates every year and prepares them to take competitive entry exams to the Polish Foreign Service and international organizations. The Forum has two internship places available.

 

Polish Red Cross

The main mission of the Polish Red Cross is to prevent and ease people’s suffering and protect the lives and human dignity of victims of violence regardless of race, nationality, gender, religious or political affiliations. Red Cross reaches out to help the weakest groups, combats racism, violence and offers care and compassion in the community.

 

Our Planet

Our Planet was established in 1994 and its mission is environmental and ecological education. Our Planet coordinates the Clean up the World campaign in Poland and together with local municipalities, schools, businesses and media organizes a number of programs to enhance environmental awareness and protection.
