Study Abroad Poland is a division of Study Abroad Compass, LLC. It was established with the goal of expanding academic year, semester, and summer opportunities for American and Canadian students who are specifically interested in the Polish language and culture.
Our mission is to provide enriching programs in a variety of academic disciplines so that every student can find the right program. In addition to a challenging curriculum, we aim to facilitate language learning and cultural immersion through well-organized activities. Our on-site staff members have worked extensively with international groups, so our students can enjoy a stress-free experience abroad.

Meet Our Team
Sarah is originally from upstate NY, and is Polish-American. She has lived in Warsaw since 2008 while completing her PhD at the Graduate School for Social Research. She began as a study abroad student herself, coming to Poland after she graduated from Ithaca College, and has since completed her MA in Sociology through Lancaster University. She has always been passionate about promoting the value and importance of studying abroad, an experience that can provide a space to learn about different cultures, but additionally allows students to learn so much about their own perspectives and identities.
Renata is originally from Slovakia. She holds an MA Degree from Lancaster University and a BA Degree from the State University of New York-Empire State College in cooperation with the University of New York in Prague. Before joining our team, she worked as a Corporate Affairs Manager at UNYP and as a Development Specialist at the May Institute in Boston. She has many years of professional experience in the fields of education, training and development, and she enjoys sharing her knowledge of Central Europe with our students.
Program Director in Warsaw
Ula, born in Warsaw, holds a bachelor degree in English philology and a master degree in Media and Society from Lancaster University. Besides working as a Program Director for Study Abroad Compass she has also been working as a tour guide of Warsaw since 2010. She takes pride in showing her hometown to students and visitors and assisting them during their stay. She regularly enjoys cycling, running and tai chi. Her mother tongue is Polish but she speaks fluent English, basic German and is currently studying French.
Program Director in Krakow
Maciej Zarych lives in Krakow and has a Masters Degree in Philosophy and a Bachelors Degree in Polish Language Studies. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Philosophy department and works for one of publishing houses in Krakow. During his studies, he had great experiences travelling and meeting new people. He would love to introduce Krakow to new students and help them with any problems or questions that they may have.

Ewelina has lived in Krakow for eight years, although she appreciates all of the beautiful provinces of Poland. She has a Bachelors degree in Literature and is now working on her Master’s degree at Jagiellonian University. During her studies she has worked in many different fields, but is very interested in teaching. She also loves reading, meeting new people and helping students get to know the city that she now can call home
Program Director in Wroclaw
Roland is a student at the University of Wroclaw, majoring in Journalism and Philosophy. He speaks fluent Polish, Italian, and English. He has extensive experience working with international students at the University of Wroclaw in a similar position, and he knows the city inside and out. He is an expert on living in Wroclaw!
Izabela Daron - Wojciechowska
Program Director in Torun
Izabela is from Torun. She is a graduate of Nicolas Copernicus University, where she studied law. She speaks fluent Polish, English and Spanish. She currently teaches Spanish and enjoys working with students. Her hobbies include sports, languages, and Latin American literature.
Program Director in Kiev
Mikhail is originally from Kiev and is a native speaker of both Russian and Ukrainian. He graduated from Donetsk National University with a degree in International Relations and became a certified state interpreter. He worked for many years in business, and in 2008 he started his own Russian/Ukrainian language school so that he can help foreigners learn about Ukraine.
Program Director in Lviv
Solomija is originally from Lviv, Ukraine. She has a PhD in linguistics and works as an Associate Professor at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. She has taken part in about 80 international courses, seminars and scientific conferences and that is why she looks forward to showing her native Ukrainian culture to our students. Her hobbies include psychology and traveling.
Jeremy is a junior at the University of Rochester majoring in Financial Economics and Statistics. He has received several academic accolades such as the Dean’s Scholarship and multiple Dean’s List recognitions for academic achievement. He is also a member of the varsity baseball team. In his free time, he likes to play outdoor sports and he also enjoys traveling and seeing the world.
