Financial Aid

If you intend to use your financial aid to pay for some or all of the program costs, you should contact your financial aid office to complete all necessary paperwork and to ensure that your aid will transfer. Study Abroad Compass cannot guarantee that your aid will transfer.

Program Payment

After being accepted you will be required to pay a $300 non-refundable deposit to confirm your place on the program. The deposit will be applied towards the full program fee. This deposit is for administrative services connected with processing your application and making initial reservations for your program.

PAYMENT SCHEDULE

$300 non-refundable deposit: 3 weeks after acceptance

Full program fee:

Summer: May 1

Fall/Academic Year: July 1

Spring: October 1

****Note: If a program’s Application Deadline is after the Payment Deadlines above, full payment is due 3 weeks after acceptance.

Payment plans are available for academic-year or full-degree applicants. Please contact our office for more information. Payments can be made by check, money order, or wire transfer. Checks and money orders should be made out to Study Abroad Compass and sent to the following address:

Cancellation and Refund Policy

All cancellations must be made in writing (e-mail is acceptable). We will send you a confirmation of your cancellation by e-mail.

If a cancellation is made more than 14 days before the program all fees are refundable, except for the $300 non-refundable deposit.

If a cancellation is made less than 14 days before the program starts, the refund is contingent on the program selected, less the $300 non-refundable deposit. It all depends on what we paid in advance and if we can recover those costs. Our staff will do our best to refund you as much as possible, but we cannot guarantee that you will receive a full refund.

After the program starts, if you need to return home due to illness or other justified reasons, it might be possible to refund some of the fees, depending on the time frame and the payments that have been made to our partners. However, if you decide to return home for “personal reasons,” or homesickness, without any justifiable reason, we will not consider any sort of refund.  Study Abroad Compass will not refund participants for unused housing, excursions, or other services included in the program fee.

We strongly encourage our students to purchase trip cancellation insurance before paying the program fee, in order to cover these expenses related to the unforeseen circumstances that may lead you to cancel your trip. A good plan is called Patriot T.R.I.P. This plan allows you to recover non-refundable, unused payments and deposits when a trip is cancelled or interrupted for a variety of reasons.
